On June 17, 2015 Dr. Press received notification from the Royal College of Chiropractor of the UK that he had been elected to the rank of "Fellow" in the College, in the Faculty of Sport & Exercise.
There are some 1300 Chiropractic Doctors in the UK. All can join and pay dues as "Members" of the Royal College, but only about 50 have been elected to the rank of "Fellow". Members may use the "post-nominal letters "LRCC" or "MRCC", only Fellows may use "FRCC".
Thus, this is a rare, and high honor bestowed only upon those whom in the opinion of the leadership of the College, have made significant contributions to the research, or advancement of the profession.
Recently Rob Finch, Executive Director of the College, confirmed that this is indeed the 1st time a non-commonwealth citizen, and only the 2nd non-British citizen to have received this high honor.
Fellow of the Royal College of Chiropractors
Only in 2012, her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, II granted the Royal warrant to the College of Chiropractors of the UK, bringing the profession into parity with the Royal College of Physicians, and the Royal College of Surgeons. Of the some 1300+ Doctors of Chiropractic in the UK, only a handful have achieved this distinction.
